赵德刚 教授 ,理学博士，博士后，中共党员。贵州大学学术委员会委员，学位委员会委员，贵州大学学科（学术）带头人，博士生导师。1983年7月毕业于原贵州农学院获农学学士学位，1995年7月获北京农业大学理学硕士学位，1997年7月获中国农业大学理学博士学位；1999年12北京林业大学生物学博士后流动站出站；2001年1月-2003年3月在美国康涅狄克大学转基因植物研究中心从事基因工程研究；曾任贵州大学科技处处长、贵州大学生物与环境科学学院院长；现任生命科学学院院长,贵州省农业生物工程重点实验室主任,教育部绿色农药与生物工程重点实验室副主任。主要从事植物生理生化与基因工程教学与科研工作。
2001年获得教育部优秀青年教师资助计划资助，贵州省第四批优秀青年科技人才培养对象，2004年被评为全国模范教师，2006年获贵州省教学名师称号，贵州省高教工委表彰优秀共产党员。 先后到美国、澳大利亚、新加坡、马来西亚、韩国、香港等国家和地区的大学和研究机构进行学术考察及交流。
近5年来完成国家级科研项目 4项，在研国家及省部级科研10余项，主要开展西部特有生物资源重要功能基因克隆与鉴定研究，作物的基因工程改良、 植物生物反应器 以及安全应用转基因技术等研究，先后在国内外刊物上发表论文 40余篇,参加国际和全国性学术会议并宣读论文10余次 ，参编专著 2部，参编教材1部，登录基因5个，申请发明专利2个； 研究工作受到业内同行重视，被选为贵州省植物生理学会理事长 ,东亚与东南亚热带生物资源研究与发展网络组织中国分会理事， 中国植物生理学会理事、组织培养与生物技术专业委员会副主任委员、中国生物化学与分子生物学会农业分会常务理事、中国农业生物技术学会 生物安全分会常务理事； 中国核心期刊《植物生理学通讯》编委、《分子植物育种》编委、《山地农业生物学报》副主编、贵州省高技术产业发展咨询专家、国家自然科学基金、国家新产品以及国家高技术（ 863）项目通讯评审专家。
